Pentagon to Triple Production of PAC-3 Missile Components

(MENAFN) The Pentagon announced Wednesday that it has reached a seven-year framework agreement with Boeing and Lockheed Martin to significantly boost production of critical components for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE), a key interceptor in the U.S. missile defense system.

The deal aims to triple the output of missile seekers, essential for the PAC-3’s guidance and interception capabilities. Pentagon officials said the move supports the defense buildup strategy promoted by President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, focusing on creating an “Arsenal of Freedom”—a high-capacity, modernized defense production network.

Michael Duffey, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, emphasized that strengthening partnerships with critical suppliers ensures the entire defense industrial base can rapidly expand production and provide U.S. forces with advanced capabilities at scale.
